Originating naturally from southern Namibia where it grows on rocky outcrops in fuill sun. It can form large dense mats in good conditions, the ball-shaped leaves hanging down from the centre.
It likes a sunny spot whetre the leaves can trail naturally. Temperatures can be as high as 85F (30C) in the summer and down to 50F (10C) in the winter months.
Don't over-water, let the compost dry out between watering. Feed a weak mixture every 3 - 4 weeks. It needs a sunny spot where the air circulates freely. Repot every few years in a cactus-type mixture.
Seldom has any problems though aphids seem to like it.
