That is lovely! I'm afraid I'd never get any gardening done..I'd just want to sit by the pond. We considered a koi pond, but our neighbors gave up on theirs because of the racoons that roam the area at night. They were feasting off the koi (aka racoon sushi!) We've settled for fountains..not quite the same though.
We don't get raccoons in the UK though Herons are a nuisance for fish. This might help?

and won't hurt them. Round here they use Lion poo from the local Safari Park to keep cats away!
I love ponds and water in general.
